Udaban refers to the long size of the paper: traditionally this format was used for scroll mounting. Itaboshi refers to the fact that this paper has been dried on wooden boards giving the sheet a slight woodgrain texture on the surface. Although unsized this paper is good for mokuhanga and relief printing in general as well as water-based media. This sheet is a heavier weight than many of our other papers.
