Chiyogami and Katazome-shi patterns are held under copyright by the individual studios in which they are made and cannot be reproduced manually, mechanically, or digitally for individual or commercial purposes.

Workshop Terms & Conditions

Please read and note these terms and conditions: booking onto a workshop with The Japanese Paper Place assumes your acceptance of the following:
We are delighted to welcome you to a workshop with The Japanese Paper Place. Your place in the workshop is confirmed with full payment. Refunds are considered on a case-by-case basis. Materials purchased for a workshop cannot be returned for refund or credit.

By registering for a workshop (workshops may take place in-person or online):

You give permission for The Japanese Paper Place to use any images you submit for use in any future marketing or promotional strategies, online or offline. You will retain the rights to your work. No sharing of the workshop links. Please understand that you are purchasing a single “ticket” for this workshop for your individual use only, or as a gift to one individual only. To enquire about educational/corporate rates (for official groups of ten or more) please send an email to

You acknowledge that The Japanese Paper Place reserves the right to delete any inappropriate comments in the workshop chat, or any community spaces (i.e. social media) in order to provide and maintain an inclusive and supportive environment. Your email address will be stored with your course registration information. We will not share this data with any other parties. If you would like the data, we hold about you to be deleted at any time, please get in touch with us;

Cancellations:

The Japanese Paper Place reserves the right to cancel a workshop at any time for any reason, including if there are too few participants. A full refund of the workshop fee will be issued in this instance. This refund will not include any material costs incurred either through the receipt of a materials package from The Japanese Paper Place, or the workshop instructor. We do not accept liability for any other costs incurred by the student other than the workshop fee.
Course itineraries are prospective and may be subject to variation and change.
