Chiyogami, also
known as Yuzen, is by far our
most popular line of paper. These hand-silkscreened repeat
pattern papers are wonderful
for collage, bookbinding, invitations -
the sky's the limit. With over
650 patterns to choose
from, you are sure to find something
to your liking!
You will also
find reference
lists of our old Geo
Chiyo and Kyo-Komon stocks.
Since they have
been discontinued
by the supplier,
we have listed
which patterns
are gone, those for which
we still have stock and those that have
been reprinted
as Chiyogami. |

In addition to our paper, we offer a number of creative supplies that are useful for users of Japanese paper.
From rice paste to sumi-e supplies to ingenious clips, these products help you get the most out of Japanese papers. |
 |
These papers are handmade using traditional methods, combining exceptional strength with the rich colour of dyed kozo. Loved by bookbinders and conservators, these papers are equally useful for printmaking, letterpress and fine art. |
 |
We are also pleased to offer a variety of paper-covered and paper-related gift items.
These include stationery sets, notepaper, pencils, pen stands, business card holders and many other items.

"Katazome-shi" literally means stencil-dyed (katazome) papers (-shi), and is also referred to as "Wazome." As the name implies, they are stencilled - with traditional materials, and the care that comes with craftsmanship by hand - to produce unforgettable, intense colours and patterns.
Treasured particularly for covering books and boxes (or simply framing), they are available in full sheets only of 24 x 36". |
 |
Our lines of metallic papers, available in a range of tones and patterns, are unlike most others you may have seen: the papers are firmly made and the patterns embossed or layered in such a way that the plain white paper on the other side is still easily printable.
These deluxe papers are ideal for luxury wrapping or decoration, when only the most opulent will do.

While not as showy as other more decorative Japanese papers, our natural paper selection is just as varied and useful: in a variety of weights, tones, textures and finishes, these papers are perfect for everything from printing to calligraphy to woodworking, or bookbinding to collage or chine-collé...the sky's the limit!
Large format Japanese papers - usually available in the form of rolls - have been widely used througout Japanese history and culture. While traditionally used for anything from shoji screens to decorative scrolls, these papers are finding growing popularity in the West in everything from interior design to printmaking.
